PLEASURES OF PAN
  Mary Lynch ~ oboe

Jeffrey Cohan ~ flute
 Roxanna Patterson ~ viola

Michael Refvem ~ harpsichord & piano

Special guest Mary Lynch, Seattle Symphony's phenomenal new principal oboist, participates in an exploration of intimate chamber music for winds, viola and keyboard from 18th-century composers Janitsch and two of Bach's sons through Gustav Holst, by way of the early 20th-century preoccupation with Pan and figures from antiquity. Weckerlin's Pastorale was dedicated to the greatest French flutist and oboist of this period, Paul Taffanel and Georges Gillet, and Pleasures of Pan was a six-volume set of flute music from three centuries published around this time.
